BiographyIn her home, Superior displays her works throughout her house, often in or on handmade furniture created by her husband, Roy, a furniture maker and sculptor. Periodically, the couple collaborates on hutches and presentation cabinets made by Roy to incorporate works by Mara. Roy is known nationally for the combination of historic furniture forms, painted surfaces and folk art references in trim and fittings he infuses into his work. Like Mara, Roy pairs fine craftsmanship with humor and eccentric details and imagery.
