BiographyWheat studied at the Art Students League and received a B.F.A. from the Yale School of Fine Arts. From 1967 to 1968, Wheat spent his service as a combat artist in Vietnam for the Office of the Chief of Military History, where his experiences there have served as inspiration for many of his artworks.
