Description"Last Act, Last Scene" afforded Davis an opportunity to display his ability to create a room full of elegantly dressed figures from high society. The crowd on the right conveys a spectrum of reactions to the performance of the actor on the left whose facial expressions and body movements have heightened the dramatic conclusion to what must have been a gripping tale. Even the servant, seen in shadows behind the buffet table, has a marked response to the actor's performance. Davis was noted for his ability to remember and re-create the most minute details of costume and furnishings.
