Description"The Machine Room was created out of photographs of the USS Intrepid in New York City. What fascinated me most of this historic monument was that the metallic forms were painted a uniform flay gray, which made it seem as if the entire aircraft carrier was carved out of a single block of metal. When viewed in varying light and shades, I saw depths and shapes which I reinterpreted as textural monochromatic forms in the collage. I then intertwined these forms with remains of an old playscape to contrast the somber mood of the main subject." Rashmi TalpadeOn View
