Radcliffe Bailey

While most young and accomplished contemporary artists journey away from their hometowns, Radcliffe Bailey chooses to work in Atlanta, where he graduated with a BFA in 1991 from the Atlanta College of Art. A student fond of Russian constructivism, Bailey's work is not easily categorized, as he mixes various forms of media to convey a particular vision: an African-American identity, both greater and personal, within the larger sphere of art and America. Moving between a literal and figurative environment, Bailey playfully orders his piece according to certain color and space interactions.
