Renate Ferro

b. 1954
BiographyFrequently using psychological and sociological theory as the springboard for her artistic practice, Renate Ferro continuously probes the relationship between human behavior, culture and emerging technology through her drawing, text, performance, installation, and video projects. Recently exhibited in a two-man exhibition at the Freud Museum in London, this photograph is a still shot from Ferro's film, Fort-Da: From the Pleasure Principles to the Technological Drive.

Renate Ferro received her BA in Fine Arts from Mercyhurst College, an MS in Print Media from Elmira College and an MFA in New Media from Cornell University. She continues her affiliation with Cornell as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Art.
