Francis BruguiereAmerican, 1879 - 1945
Bruguiere spent the early years of his life traveling back and forth between New York City and California. In New York he became friends with influential photographers Frank Eugene and Alfred Stieglitz. Later in life Bruguiere photographed for "Vanity Fair", "Vogue and Harpers Bazaar" magazines as well as becoming the official photographer for the New York Theater guild. In 1928, Bruguiere moved to London where he continued to work eventually abandoning photography in 1937 to focus fully on painting and sculpture.
