Peter WaiteAmerican, b. 1950
Waite is one of the most widely-respected American scene painters living in Connecticut today. He had his first-ever exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art in 1977, and had a solo New/Now exhibition in 2007. In recent years, Waite's art has consisted of large-scale, paneled paintings that explore the "intersection of personal and social memory." He purposefully omits the human figure from his work.
