Dudley V. Talcott

BiographyNephew of artist Allen Butler Talcott (1867 - 1908) and the great-nephew of John Butler Talcott (1824 - 1905), the founder of the New Britain Museum of American Art, Dudley Vaill Talcott studied drawing and sculpture in open classes at Yale University, and at the Academié de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. He exhibited widely in prominent New York museums and galleries, as well as in the 1939 World's Fair held in New York City. During the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he also participated in the Mixed Sculpting Competition, an event that was part of the Olympic Games from 1912 to 1948.
