DescriptionIn addition to his accomplishments in the culinary arts, Pépin has also been a painter since youth. He paints with expressive brushstrokes and vibrant color, as can be seen in the brilliant jewel-toned blues and reds that characterize "Interiuer". These rich hues paired with geometric shapes are reminiscent of the paintings of the Russian-born French painter and stained glass artist, Marc Chagall (1887-1985). The fragmented surface of the work itself recalls stained glass windows. Pépin presents the viewer with an elegantly abstracted scene that is still recognizable and offers a sumptuous feast for the eyes. On View
