DescriptionIn 1924, Cheney visited Florence and was spellbound by the treasures he studied in the city's many art museums. He painted this view of the Duomo and other major monuments of Florence that fall. Cheney wrote of the city which he came to love, "Florence is the home of my spirit rather than Venice."
