BiographyIn her artwork, Ruth Weisberg combines different themes from feminism, art history, and Judaism. When Weisberg left graduate school in the 1960s, at the height of Abstract Expressionism, she decided to paint in a figurative manner. A reason for this was as she explains: "If you're Abstract Expressionist, you can't do this, you can't do that, you can't have subject matter, you can't have narrative, but I knew these were things I wanted."
