Ronald AbbeAmerican, b. 1940

A local artist residing in Meriden, Ronald Abbe earned both his BFA and MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Working in oil, watercolor, and pastel, Abbe “reinterprets landscape from a contemporary viewpoint.” His artwork strikes a balance between realism and abstraction through the use of a signature impasto technique that draws the viewer in to the detail. Abbe has exhibited throughout the region and country, but finds most of his inspiration in the quiet pockets of nature throughout Connecticut.
