John Sennhauser

Now best known for his commitment to abstraction, it was not until the 1940s that Sennhauser abandoned painting realistic scenes of urban street life. Born in Rorschach, Switzerland, he immigrated to the United States in 1928, first working as an architectural draftsman. Like many of his contemporaries he painted murals in the 1930s.
