Katy Schneiderb. 1964

A native of New York City, Schneider studied at Yale University where she earned her B.F.A. in 1986. She received her M.F.A. at Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1990. Schneider has taught art courses at a number of colleges and universities, including Boston University, Hampshire College, Amherst, Massachusetts, and Indian University. Schneider currently lives with her husband, painter David Gloman, in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she has been a lecturer at Smith College since 1990. In 2003, she illustrated Patricia MacLachan's children's book, Painting the Wind, which received a Newbery Medal Winner prize.
