From 1955-57, Sapiro toured Europe on a goodwill mission with the 279th Army Band stationed in Poitiers, France. He taught music at North Haven High School, Connecticut, from 1958-96, where he also met his wife, Sally. Sapiro lives and works in North Haven, Connecticut. "Still Water, Sunrise Reflected" was exhibited in Sapiro's one-man show at the Cooley Gallery, Old Lyme, Connecticut, in 2000.
