Rowena A. MorrillAmerican, b. 1944
Rowena A. Morrill (b. 1944) has created hundreds of book covers for science fiction, horror, and fantasy books by Philip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov, Anne McCaffrey, and others. She is the daughter of a military family and travelled widely.
She received a BA from the University of Delaware, then spent time at the Tyler School of Fine Art in Philadelphia.
A self-taught painter, she found work in publishing. Her first commission was a cover for Ace Books. Monographs of her work include "The Fantastic Art of Rowena," "Imagination," and "The Art of Rowena." Her work is noted for its detail and bold use of color, but mostly for its painstaking artistry.
