Frank C. Bensing1893 - 1983
After attending the Chicago Institute of Art for several years, Bensing made a living as an illustrator and portrait painter. Though blind in one eye since childhood from scarlet fever, he became successful in advertisement work for large companies such as General Electric and Coca-Cola. His covers and story art have appeared in numerous magazines from the "Country Gentlemen" to the "Saturday Evening Post". He has also contributed photography for the American Legion and designed movie posters for production company Radio-Keith-Orpheum Pictures. Working primarily in inks, oils and watercolors, Bensing was most skilled at creating interesting lines of action in what would otherwise be static scenes.
