DescriptionConnecticut-based artist Marion Belanger earned an M.F.A. from the Yale University School of Art and was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship to photograph the contested landscape of the Everglades. Describing her work, Belanger states: “Liminal spaces and shifting boundaries have long been the subject of my photographic work. Much of what I photograph exists along the intersections of the geologic and cultural landscapes. I investigate how boundaries demarcate difference and reflect changes upon the land. The boundaries create both metaphorical and physical differences and serve as the borderline between knowing and mystery, inside and outside, the contained and the wild.”
