DescriptionThe change of seasons at Twachtman's Greenwich home inspired some of his best-known impressionistic paintings. In "Summer Trees", Twachtman painted this New England scene with soft tonal qualities using broken brushwork. This painting was done during Twachtman's Greenwich Period, where he celebrated the natural beauty of his surroundings. The majority of his finest works were completed during this period. On View
