Description"Shore Girl" features Session's youngest daughter, Molly. This painting captures the emotions of a young teenager who feels wary and uncomfortable about her emerging womanhood. Sessions described the context of this painting remembering that "Molly wanted to wear a bikini like her other friends, but to hide herself from the admiring glances of the young men, she wore a large white shirt of her fathers as a cover up."
Sessions remarked, "I photographed all five of our children when I found them in an unusual light or an interesting position. They were accustomed to my shout 'Don't Move!' while I ran to get my camera. No doubt she was thinking, 'Here we go again'."
