DescriptionPratt's best-known works are the majestic female figures of Art and Science that grace the front steps of the Boston Public Library. This ambitious urban planning project assembled leading architects, painters, and sculptors to create a masterpiece of the American Renaissance. In 1909 Pratt gave Artemis, a sculpture of the goddess of the hunt, to his friend Benson in exchange for a Benson Painting. Later, Pratt modeled a bust of Benson. "Artemis" was included by Benson as an elegant prop in his painting "Figure in a Room" (1912). Both men were leaders of the Boston School of artists. On View
