DescriptionAccording to the artist: "Change is inevitable, if we expect to grow. We persist in the impossible preservation of stability because those things feel safe and comfortable."
Photography has allowed Beaucar to capture the figure in motion and physically describe the form as it changes over time. Beaucar's haunting content is influenced by the theologian Charles Williams who felt that if man could see clearly, choices between good and evil would be self-evident. Referencing this clarity of vision, Beaucar portrays St. Joan whose vision lead her to peruse what she thought was good.
