DescriptionIn "Autumn Landscape", McEntee portrayed two figures in the foreground who may be conversing with each other. His masterful application of gold and brown paint to the canvas imbue the scene with a somber, introspective mood. Judging by the fallen leaves and the bare trees, this painting may depict the countryside in late October or early November. McEntee might have executed Autumn Landscape in the Catskills from pencil sketches he completed on an earlier trip to the region.On View
