BiographyChristine Osinski grew up in the south side of Chicago. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MFA from Yale University. Her work has been featured in galleries and museums worldwide, and she has earned many honors, including a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship. She started using photography in her last year of college. When she moved into a new neighborhood in Chicago, she was feeling isolated. Photography provided a way to get out of the studio and explore the neighborhood. From then on, she considered a camera a "transitional object" and photography a way to navigate the world.
